Lizhen  Yan, Ph.D New Brunswick, NJ Lizhen Yan was not even able to run more than 100 yards before 2007. Then she decided to challenge herself by first signing up for a half marathon in April, 2007, then for a full Marathon in Nov, 2007. The experience gained from completing 2 marathons in one year has completely changed her mind-set about what a person can be or become. Running a marathon was a turning point in her life.
